The network and infrastructure of HostSlim runs on green electricity. With green hosting, the engergy needed for keeping devices online comes mainly through natural sources. This means that no use is made of nuclear power stations, coal-fired power stations or wood-fired power generation and thus minimizing CO2 emissions.
In addition to using green power, HostSlim also ensures that we use energy-efficient equipment. This ensures a large reduction of power consumption. For example, by being smart with our equipment and use, we can halve our power consumption! In addition, our network has been automated to such an extent that servers that are not used are automatically turned off. With many providers this is not the case and those servers (while they are not used) continue running and consume power. This is, of course, everything but environmentally friendly.
In addition, the cooling alleys in our data center are designed to use as little power as possible for Coolen. This can be achieved by making the cooling spaces as air-tight as possible and using partitions for open rack units.
HostSlim also compensates the CO2 emissions by planting trees. We make a donation once a year to Trees4all to ensure that HostSlim also contributes to a livable and healthy environment.
The certificates for donation to Trees4all can be found here:
